I found these lovely Tatting Shuttles, many years ago, at a local estate sale
This is the second plastic Boye shuttle & was introduced in the 1950's

Stamped on (1st) side
'THE BOYE NEEDLE CO.'
'CHICAGO'
(2nd) side
'Boye'
Measures approx. 3 1/8"L x 3/4"W x 3/8"H
The 'Boye Improved' shuttle was patented on April 17, 1923
It was constructed of one piece of folded metal and had a removable bobbin
The folded end is squared off to hold the bobbin for easy winding. The other end has a hook
Made of Nickel. I believe, this style was sold after 1947

Surface rubbing and scratches are visible. These tatting shuttles are attractive and still very useful.
