Summary:
Installed this 12si alternator on my 69 Camaro due to the stock one couldn't keep up with the amp draw. I have dual electric fans on my radiator, Vintage Air A/C system, power amp for my sound system not to mention having the headlights on. After a short time of driving at night my headlights would start flashing and my gauges jumped all over the place. This 12si alternator keeps up the HIGH AMP OUTPUT at low idle such as sitting at a light. Standard 100 to 175 amp alternators won't do this. Mine benched out at 108 amps while idling at only 700 RPM's. Completely fixed my problem. Note: the CS130 and the 12si are the same alternator with the high output at idle. Its just the 12si fits the original 6 3/4" hole spread on your brackets where as the CS130 fits some of the after market brackets that are 7 1/4" hole spread. Both units have an internal voltage regulator. If you have the 2 pin plastic plug-in at the side of your alternator it will plug right into the 12si but not into the CS130. It requires an adapter for that plug-in. Great price for an alternator that will take care of all your amp problems on your muscle car. P.S. yes... I had to get it in the chrome finish. It really looks great!!!

Return Policy
